read up on wiring the diff so the pump comes on all the time while drifting (as std it needs high speed + high temp to come on).

What diff have you got? Standard S14 or mechanical like a Cusco or KAAZ?

If its standard then just use the normal spec stuff (75w90 I think) as its makes no difference to the lock up of the diff.

If its a mechanical diff then you generally want something like an 80w90 mineral oil unless you have a Nismo diff as they are specced to use synthetic oil. If the diff is feeling a bit 'loose' then a 140w oil should help.

Oh, and I doubt the diff pump makes any difference at all. I swapped sensor wires so the dash light would come on first rather than the cooler pump and it has never come on, not on high speed thrashes or even last saturday at an OPT drift day with the cooler ripped out.:)

i took the cooler off ages ago, the std unit is sealed so the oil wont affect it, it can overheat the viscous stuff inside and go open, i used to get that alot, i put the cheapest crap oil in my diff and its fine
