Isnt this enough to inspire an SXOC LFS dedicated drift server? http://www.tmrmzine.com/JOHN/yashiofactoryfull.mpg

Theres a dedicated drift server that I regularly play on called "DTM Drift Server" whic is pretty good. Loads of awesome pro drifters on there.

I'm having a lot of trouble finding regular decent drift servers on S1 :( Most of the time you end up in Demo with the 14yr old's who seem to believe they know everything there is to know about drift, and the nobheads who just want to crash

Its an awesome game, the physics are mint and put crap like GT4 to shame.

You NEED a steering wheel tho do be good at it.

I use the Xbox controller, and getting along quite well. all you need is a Xbox controller, and either the converters (that convert the plug to USB) or an old USB device or cable you don't need and splice in the USB cable the the short piece at the end that way you can still use it on your Xbox and disconnect the end and use it on an Xbox wheel too, although i prefer the controller.

you'll also need software called XBCD (XBox Controller Driver) and your away its the best controller ive used for PC.

I use a 5 quid joypad from PC World. A lot better than the keyboard imo. Ive used the drift setup and put the rears on mega camber, and use the Scandinavian Flick to drift, not many drift servers tho as said.

I can drift with the keys no bother, but I really suck at racing with them now :(

i can drift in s2 but having to keep pitting due to the tyre wear got on my nerves back to s1.

everyone got the demo or the full s1 version?....Getting the hang of drifting in the NA car. its gona take ages to get 200 credits for the turbo, thats when the proper drifting will happen!

Who plays online?

"Mojo jojo" thats my name online

Just join the "DTM drift server". Theres a few of us on there usually.

Just got my XBox controller hooked up to it and its so much better than mouse. I was getting pretty good with mouse but controller is very controllable.
4th gear drifts down the straight and slowing down into the 'S' bends is good fun :D

I just need to get enough credits to buy the Turbo now as that seems to smoke alot more from the tyres and the NA always feels like its running out of puff.

Anyone have any tips on how to get 200 credits quickly?!

Just and idea - might be good to have SXOC in our online name so we can recognise each other on there.

E.g, I would have - Jord [SXOC]

Chavbo

A few of us used to use the [SXOC] prefix, don't know what happened to it.

I've not tried drifting properly in S2 but I'm getting right into the racing again, so I think I'll keep S1 seperate for drifting and S2 for racing :)

hey man, its gona take you ages to get 200 credit mate. NA car drifts are ok, but it better in a turbo. i have'nt got a good control pad, but im gona go an g buy an xbox one wiv a usb thing for pc  then dori dori dori (as danworth would say :) )

Danny from the board sent me his saved file, so i was able to get the turbo car. You want it?.... or you gona be hard core and race to get 200 credits..hehe

Chavbo

200 credits are easy to get, just do a few AI races on pro level, 3 laps or so, 48 credits every time you win. If you can't manage that, make a really bad setup (i.e. moon buggy), add the AI drivers, then change your setup before your start the race. That way the AI end up on a crap setup....

i keep just swapping ends on 2... guess 40psi is a bit too high for rear tires tho... i can get it to drift about 20% of the time in 1 with the gt car tho...

Is there a way to get your ultimate S1 drift setup transfered across to S2? Would quite like to importay the tracks too. I guess that's just not cricket though.

With the physics in S1 most racers/drifters I've come across tend to run max pressure in the tyres at either end, I know I always did. Seems it can be done in S2 as well to an extent, but its just a bit too slidy for me, so I'm using mid 40's

yeah i tried again a bit ago with stock hard track setup and it was a lot easyer,

Jord

I use realistic tyre pressures [30-35psi] and it drifts fine, the NA is underpowered though and tends to run out of steam. I might even put pressure down a bit to take some of the slide out and make it better for powering round corners rather than just drifting off throttle.

Only problem with using the control pad is I find the replays look underealistic as the front wheels tend to 'flick' from lock to lock as opposed to be turned by a wheel/mouse. Other than thats its spot on control-wise.

Could someone send me thier save file please to alipob@btinternet.com

Much appreciated.

for drifting its best to make the shocks tough (rebound doens't matter as much) and raise the rear ride hieght a bit... dont worry about upping the spring rate, it doesn't really help much. Tyre pressure is just whatever you prefer, like jord says - the higher it is the more tim eyou will spend drifting while you decelerate or come off the gas and the best tip is probably to make the car naturally understeer so you can set the caster and steering lock to their maximums for opposite lock - makes maintaining drifts easier. S2 is deffo a better sim but I do find it harder overall.

Baba

S2 is better overall but the tyre wear is pants on it. If u drift for 1 minute your tyres wear so much you cant even drive. Thats not realistic coz u should get at least 10 mins drifting on new tyres.

Jord

I don't think Ill bother with S2. I only use it for drifting so from what Ive heard its less than ideal.

s2 is pretty

but I can oversteer at 10mph in 5th gear (!) - tried this out after yeager mentioned that it was a bit too easy to drift in s2 - and yeah, I think the engine needs some polishing ;)
