Those outlook / exchange viruses don't affect our Notes Servers :p
Well, that'll teach you for using crappy Microsoft Email software.
We use Eudora here, had no problems!!! :p
im going to get flamed but I think outlook / exchange is pretty good actually. A lot better to use than note (as a user, that is)

Nobody here use good old fashioned sendmail? solid as a rock. my linux mailserver has has an uptime of 436 days :D (touch wood) it also runs the dns, samba server, L users home accounts, intranet web server, with just a lil ole P2 350 and half a gig of ram. still runs fast as fu** plus I have ttysnoop running if I feel like amusing myself at the expense of the L users by adding extra caracters while theyre typing :D:D
I think you'll find that it's not a virus just a "feature" of NT to unexplanably shut down or blue screen :D

436 Days? We had an NT based Oracle server up for over 2 years without a reboot. We actually forget where the damn thing was when we wanted to decommission it. :D
Jez, you're right, as a user for email, (Outlook / Exchange) is better than Notes (For Email) But for everything else....... Notes beats it hands down. :p
What virus is this?
I think we might have it here...
or certainly A virus

We have a VMS server that hasn't gone down is 1287 days....
Our best other server is the payroll machine on NT4, 8months..
Uptime over 20 days? pfft.. your server team aren't doing their job properly then ;)
its all working again... boo!! :(
dunno what the problem was though... I dont do servers any more...
so hey ok heres a question regarding decent anti virus programs...
here at work they use "PC -Cillin", who the feck makes this, how good is it and who else uses it? what other stuff is avaiable and how good is it in stopping **** happening?

I've tested a lot of AntiVirus programs and reckon Norton is one of the best.
A few others worth a mention are InnoculateIT, Command Antivirus & Sophos.

I picked up Panda AV, on a recommendation from the long absent JohnD76
I use Network Associates' Total Virus Defence. It has a nice management console.
I thought InnoculateIT was dead?
Personally wouldn't recommend Norton.
The number of people I know who have it, update regularly and still get floored...
