Perhaps this thing will even do a Soarer ;)
Ripped from the HKS USA (http://www.hksusa.com) website...
Congratulations to T. Kawasaki (HKS Factory Driver) and all the HKS crew for piloting the HKS DRAG 180SX to a Pro Class win at the Nitto Extreme Performance NHRA Sport Compact Nationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park on 5/5/02.
More importantly, Kawasaki and HKS raised the performance bar once again by smashing the world record for a non-V8 import car, which was previously set by HKS in 1998. Without the aid of nitrous, the HKS DRAG 180SX ran a 7.184 @ 190.62 mph.
The seven year old HKS DRAG 180SX is powered by a RB26DETT Nissan Skyline Motor with a slew of HKS bolt-on components along with a mix of some internal and custom HKS racing components. Here are the record breaking results from this past weekend:
Saturday Qualifying:
7.244 @ 186.59 mph
7.184 @ 190.62 mph
Sunday Eliminations Round 1:
7.596 @ 188.91 mph
Sunday Eliminations Round 2:
7.199 @ 191.46 mph
Sunday Final Round:
7.252 @ 193.46 mph
Special Thanks to Paisley Automotive, TRD, Englishtown / Old Bridge Township Raceway, NHRA, Nitto Tires, World Racing, Turbonetics, Flaco Racing, Blast Racing and to everyone else that supported us...but most of all…to all the fans in Englishtown for your support and help with the US racing debut of the HKS DRAG 180SX. We all look forward to the future events it will be attending.
