......does air weigh??????

1kg per cubic meter I think. I'm saying that as bar=kg/m2, but it seems a bit high to me. Can't be arsed to look it up though :D
are u sure it ways anything? bar is a preasure measurement, as is psi. doesnt 1 bar = one atmospheric preasure, ie if your running 1 bar of boost your basically running two times the atmospheric preasure. but i dont think theres actually a weight to it! could be wrong, prob am!:D

I think Keith is right.
But it does depend on how much alcohol you've had.
Air definately does weigh something becoz it is composed of matter.
I think, tho i may be wrong, tha teach of us has 2 tonnes sitting on our noggins courtesy of the height of the atmosphere. I may be lying.
Steve and I are discussing compressor maps and turbo sizing on MSN :)
We are having a laugh. Probably more like "andy is drunk and steve is laughing at andy trying to spell words" :D

Density of air at standard temperature and pressure = 1.29kg/m cubed.
DON'T PANIC - I'm not Mycroft, I just happened to wake up in a thermodynamics lecture once after a hard days night at university :)
Fook me, if air weighs that much how the hell does one manage to stand up with so much air above?????
;) ;) ;)
but does density = wieght?????

We survive at the bottom of the atmosphere without getting squished for the same reason that fish survive at the bottom of the ocean - we're designed for it! That, and practice.
And yeah, density is mass per unit volume, each cubic metre of air weighs 1.29kg. Cor, I've only been here an hour and I'm answering technical questions already! I just hope hope you're not expecting me to make a habit of it ;)
How come 1 bar = 1kg/m2 then? I'm confoosed...

how heavy do you feel? I feel like several tonnes today...
no, density is how many molecules can be fitted into a certain space.
Weight then depends on the size of those molecules and the specific gravity and atmospheric conditions present.
Your density on the moon and on earth is the same, but you weigh less because of atmosphere and gravity changes.
