Heh everyone,

My big end is definitely on its way out.
I need a new lump.
The car is a black 92 s13 with good bodywork, no rust and always flies through its mot.Ive had it 6 years.
I love my car and dont really want to see it go.

Look, can anyone give me some advice on where I can get a decent engine from.I understand I could maybe get a jap low mileage lump from somewhere?

Ive been quoted a few prices around the 400-500 mark with varying mileages although when it arrives I could still have a lump of crap couldnt I.

Can anyone on the board fit it for me for a decent price as I dont trust any tom, dick or harry to fit it for me?Or maybe point me in the right direction.I dont mind driving a reasonable distance.im in bournemouth.

Cheers,

Chris

Hello mate,

I will speak to a mate of mine "tom200" as he has found a place locally that is willing to do engine re-builds for a very reasonable price.

As far as I know, if you have caught it soon enough it may only need the big ends doing! I wouldn't rule out your engine at the moment!

Unfortunatly Im a S14 lad so Im not completely clued up on the CA.

Anyway - I will try and find this number for you, no harm in trying huh!

- btw, im in Dorchester so pretty local.

It was originally advertised for £1295.
It has been there for a few weeks so might be worth a punt at £1k :D

It is very clean though, and looks un-modified.

Worth a trip to Bournemouth to come and say Hi

Or you could just get an S14 :D:D:D

I thought you were wondering why I had posted the link to the S13 for sale in loads of places (which I haven't BTW).

Just goes to show how easy it is to get the context wrong on here dunnit ?!

[sorry to the txt spk 2 innit]

if i were in your position i would definitely go for a rebuild unless the engine is seriously fubar

if you buy a replacement engine you are getting a certain unknown quantity, even if its got a full service history with it, with a rebuild you are getting what you need/want/pay for, know how its been done and then know how its run in as you do that part yourself
