We have made some more design tweeks and the S13 systems are nearly sorted now :)

Im aiming to sell them as a complete turbo back system and should have the price below £400. They should be a decent noise level too due to a few tweaks we have made

interested to see some noise levels on that - how many parts will the system have (i.e. backbox, mid section, downpipe with separate cat replacment or one piece) ?

bren
04-02-2005, 14:04
I wont be less than 85db, I can tell you that now

It will be a three piece system with front pipe with built in silencer, mid section with silencer, and rear section with silencer. The silencers are all high flow items.

The system will come with bung and all gaskets and bolts. It will be 3" throughout, stainless steel and mandrel bent.

What is the noise level of the single box S13 exhaust do you know? Is the new system much quieter?

3 silencers! Are they straight through silencers? like, just perforated tube inside with wadding around it?

bren

blobsta,

The front pipes will be avaliable by themselves  I need someone to test the new front pipe. I wont go on our car because we have an S14 decat, front pipe and turbo elbow. Fancy a cheap front pipe? Id send you a noise meter with it and would need a before and after db reading if possible. Youd get the pipe for £50 in return :)

Terry,

The new system is significantly quieter than the old system but its still loud hence the third silencers.

All the silencers are straight through free flowing items so performance will barely be effected :)

The new prototype front pipe has just landed. Do you want to try it blobsta? :)

When do you think the systems will be ready Bren?? :) :)

how much would that downpipe with the silencer built in cost on its own...if you are going to sell them seperate to the whole system that is? :)

i've currently got one of your 2.5" d/p but am after something a bit quieter :)

cheers

Ooooh, and I got paid twice this month as well :D

I'll be having one of those I feel :)

I am sure this is a really stupid question, but I take it that this comes with everything I need to put it on?

might need gaskets :)

I'm really wanting one of these, my current apex with no cat and stripped out interior is just a little too much, plus the noise regs at some places make it a pain.

Would catback system still be £299 on it's own?
Surely with three silencers this system will be very. very quiet?
The S14 twin box system comapred to single box was meant to be very quiet, so a three box S13 system would be quieter still? Or are the silencers slightly different?
Looks very nic ethough, would definately conisder one of thos front pipes to replace my current SE one, how much would they be on their own?
Also, whilst my mind is ticking away, is it possible that someone could doa dB test on one of these silenced d/p's with the single box system? Or would this still be pretty loud?

bren
14-02-2005, 09:34
blobsta,

Can you give us another shout please, no one took any of your details so the pipes still sat here  :)

They come with gaskets, nuts bolts, etc :)

The front pipes alone will be around £120.

S13s are very loud for some reason, considerably louder than S14s hence the additional silencer. We will have a db reading done with a single box and the new front pipe :)

Ben A
14-02-2005, 12:24
can i test it please!!!!! :D

What about me Bren, I live in Bradford have a std exhaust at the mo could do noise tests on both :Plug:

bren

2.3_ben.a is trying it for us. We need someone with a noisy system to do before and after tests and he has a single box system so is ideal :)

Will you still be able to buy a cat-back system, or are you only doing it from turbo back?

bren
17-02-2005, 13:52
You will be able to buy cat back too :)

How are things progressing with these beauties Bren??

bren
08-03-2005, 19:27
We are making yet another change. Even with a THIRD silencer in the front pipe the exhaust are loud :annoyed:

We are now going for a box shaped silencer in the mid pipe to see if its more efficient than the sleek type being used at the moment :)

You cant accuse me of not trying with the design of these exhausts!!

Sorry, pestering again, just wondering how these are going as I'm getting really itchy for a new exhaust :)

Cheers :)

I am very interest of your new exhaust system, will you also offer it for 299 pound too? Makes it about 90-95db with a original front pipe? Can you send me a message when the cat-back system is finished to offer?

Have these been tried with an exhaust control valve at all??
I'd love to get a decent exhaust, but would need a control valve so as to keep the neighbours kinda happy.

bren
11-04-2005, 10:46
Yeah theyre £299. Theyve not been tried with an exhaust valve.

bren
13-04-2005, 13:38
The first one was fitted and tested a while ago, they drop the noise level by around 4db once theyve coked up :)

Mikey
15-04-2005, 22:01
Thats a good reduction in volume seeing as a 3db increase doubles the volume. Can you supply the db reading at 3000rpm ?

bren
19-04-2005, 14:42
It was a customer who took the readings with our test meter. The meters back here now so we cant do anymore tests

20-04-2005, 23:45
will you still offer the version without all the silencers?

bren
21-04-2005, 12:09
No, they are too loud for the majority of people.

EqualizerCS
21-04-2005, 22:10
Can you finally say how much db they will make? Will they reach about 95db?

Would the exhaust reach 95db(A) by standing at 4000-5000 rpm?

I'm interested in the comparative loudness between these and the Mongoose :)

I need to get mine replaced soon, and I've had my eyes on the Mongoose, but then I spotted this, and went "hmm".

Even with the standard exhaust I get one guy at work complaining "Your turbo makes the whole building vibrate!"

Of course, he drives an old cavalier that leaves a cloud of blue smoke behind it where-ever it goes :D

We have some exhaust that should be ready at the end of the month but I don't know exactly what's coming until we get a shipping list through.

bren
10-05-2005, 13:13
We do know exactly whats coming through. We have S14 cat back systems, S13 cat back systems, S13 3" front pipes and S13 3" silencer front pipes on order. Theyre due towards the end of the month now. The suppliers originally said the beginning of May, now they say the exhaust will be ready mid May :)

If the new exhaust for the S13 is now available, can we please have a price for the complete system (presumably including all gaskets etc) and some photos.
Want to replace the Mongoose now we have gone to Stage 3.

Quick Q Bren.

I have a non CAT Facelift and the front pipe already has a silencer on, will your front pipe make this setup any quieter or would it be awaste of time?

also are you able to provide just bungs on their own? I have a single box system and its far too loud! I need a bung for a 4" tail piece and some way of making the exhaust quieter!

Cheers
Kev

bren
31-05-2005, 11:23
Ive no idea, it depends on what type of silencer you already have. We have 4" bungs in stock, theyre £27.50.

Theyre going to be here any day now :) We dont do a cheap elbow as the only ones Ive seen havent been good enough.

Is the new generation of the cat-back exhaust avaible now? I heard that these are the same products like ss-autochrome or XS-Racing. I have seen a sample of the systems and I would say that they have big middle pots.
