View Full Version : Stage 1?
Jez, i've got a stupid S14 with an S14a ecu, would you be able to fit a chip at the rolling road day in March?
Erm, not really I'm afraid - there wouldn't be anywhere suitable to do it.
Was just an idea, I'll have to send it to you or come over, Newbury's not that far away! I'm trying to decide if a stage 1 is suitable, I'm only a set of injectors off stage 2 when its done i think
The stage 2 chip isn't ready just yet. I will be offering an upgrade from stage 1 to stage 2. This won't require any soldering - just need to replace 2 socketed chips on the daughterboard.
Any idea how much the upgrade will be?
The upgrade from stage 1 to stage 2 will be £75.
Thanks for the swift replies, i shall have to go with my original plan of mailing my ecu to you for a stage 1 and worry about the next stage later, when can you do it?
Ive got the chips in stock, so it'll take about 3-4 days round trip.
Email me to sort out the details :)
Mailed you, its from a hotmail account so i think you better check your junk filters!
Hi mate
Got the ECU and just fitting the upgrade now.
I'll get it in the post tomorrow so you should have it Friday :)
Cheers
Jez
Jez, would you say that it is ok to send the ecu to you in general (assuming timing is standard), or is it far more preferrable to see you in person for the chip fitting?
Thanks :)
You can send your ECU for fitting no probs - quite a few people have done this. :)
Thanks - wont be long now
Is it good? First impressions etc :)
The power comes in smoother and lower down the rev range, and its nice to know that its fueling enough for the boost setting :D
Turned the boost up at the weekend, its reading 1.1 bar tonight, but it was only 2 degrees out there!
Definatly faster on bits of road i know well and have a decent point of comparison.
I'm really pleased i got Jez to do the upgrade now, the car is quicker, more drivable and less likely to harm itself through running lean!
:D:D:D
cheers Jez
Cool - glad you like it :)
I don't recommend running 1.1 bar however. Keep it to 1 bar to be safe :)
I think when its warmer it will probably drop to 1 bar, but i'll turn it down a bit to be safe
