View Full Version : We are gonna pay, boy, are we gonna pay!
Now, you know about how we motorists pay for all the other insurance failures well we're in the **** now!
After todays High Court ruling regarding the Asbestosis claim, we as motorists will be paying for that too!
The only way to recover the (justifiably) huge payouts will be to use the 'Other contingencies' sum from motorists premiums, this is entirely legal, although very underhand the sum will about 20% to next years premiums and about the same for the next 3 years so as to build a fund for payouts.
So having lost so much face tugging 'Names' into Court they will now just fleece us the motorists, we are easy to fleece, the average motorist isn't even aware of the 'fiddle'. Dammit half the brokers aren't aware either.

All these new Claims groups are the effing worst, encouraging people to claim when no claim is needed. I was shopping in town the other week, and some representitive of one of these groups approached me, and was very pushy as to what I could claim for.
I told him to F**k off and that they where just gold diggers and that I would end up paying for it in the end.
I mean how long is it going to be before you can claim for poking yourself in the eye????
Best is US woman sueing KPeanuts for anaphalactic shock after eating their produce (she knew she was allergic to nuts)
I thought the KPeanuts on the packaging MIGHT alert her to the contents...

I'll have to have a look at the news now, sounds ominous.
I hope it don't get as bad as the US over here :(
Didn't someone successfully sue McDonalds for spilling their hot coffee over HERSELF and causing burns. I mean hello... Coffee is supposed to be hot.. Thats why you don't pour it over your lap... Jeezus.
I can see the day in the future when these personal injury firms actually train people to make a living out of faking accidents and winning compensation
Actually the asbestosis/mesothelioma thing should make little or no difference. The insurance companies had been paying out for years on this and have had the money set aside for a long time. What happened was that the Fairchild Ruling, overturned by the Lords yesterday, just meant that they could stop paying out for a while. All that happens now is that things go back to the way they were a couple of years ago.
And anyway - be glad. Those of us who have mucked about with asbestos brakes and clutches for years and years run as much risk of getting mesothelioma as any shipyard worker. It just takes one fibre to start it if you're susceptible. After all, brake dust did for Steve McQueen. Get ready to sue Mintex and Ferodo and so on!
