This week I have changed my oil, cleaned my panel filter and fitted some spark plugs, anyone who knows me realises that is quite an unusual achievement!

Admittedly I did have the wrong side of the car jacked up for the oil change (Steve there doesn't seem to be much oil.... DOH!) and needed Steve to show me how to take my coil packs off and change my plugs, but his role was almost entirely advisory :) .

Also took Steve out for a spin, and he reckons that the whistling noise is not the turbo itself, but mor likely one of the gaskets in that area. So that's more good news :D

Good on yer mate...
I understand what you mean
I know jack sh*t about what goes on under the bonnet. I can manage topping up the oil and checking fluid levels, but I always wanted to do more.

My last car, I bought spark plugs, oil and oil filter and tools all ready and then bottled it :o ...doh

nevermind, perhaps I'll try installing my BOV :D

I changed my downpipe and I could hear a loud whistling... put it down to being the turbo's natural noise.

Went to the TSC, and the gasket went. The mechanic said about 2 thirds of the gasket material was gone!

Get yourself one as a company car mate...

I only got round to finding out where the bonnet release lives to remove the restrictor...

I'm still not entirely sure where the washer bottle is, as Nissan always fill it up for me when it gets serviced, currently every 4 weeks or so.

In 42,000 miles, I think I've only opened the bonnet four times.
