One week without any fags

Bloody Marvellous I feel, and it has been relatively easy.

And the thousands I save, can go on the 200.

I feel like I'm reborn. :D:D:D:D:D:D

First of all, I don't think I wanted to quit smoking (I liked it to much for a start) Last Friday, I did the usual, filled the car up with Petrol and asked for the usual 20 Marlboro. Then I asked the cashier to forget the fags. !!!!!What did I say!!!!!!

That was the start. I soon realised, that it isn't a physical craving of Nicotine that I felt, it was the habits that go with smoking - having the cigarette after dinner, the one (or 4) in the car on the way to work, the cigarette breaks at the office (You have to go outside, it's a non smoking building) And the cigarettes with the drinks up the pub.

Well the simple thing is don't stop the habits, take it a step at a time. When I wanted a cigarette in the car, I simply wound the window down as I always had done, and drove for 5 minutes like that just without the cigarette. The fag breaks at the office are still taken, just no cigarette - a fresh air break. At the pub last night, I got drunk, but no cigarettes were wanted. That was a breakthrough.

So it can be done and it's easier than you can imagine - only time will tell if I stick to it, but at present, I don't want to go back to smoking.

And thankyou everyone for the messages of support.:)

i probably stop smoking sooner or later
but the one thing i will not do is smoke in the car
did in the old car but think too much if it,also cant be bothered
to clean the inside once a week because of ash and the state of the windscreen
do yourself a favour have a cig before you go out, when you come home have a cig while the turbo cools down
well done by the way
