View Full Version : new style speed cameras?
The new looking ones with a red lens on the front, do they get you either way, is there a flash and do they need lines on the road??
i just sailed through one!!!

My Mrs was telling me about these last night. They don't flash or anything and the first you know is when you get a letter or somthing through the door. Sound well dodgy to me. ( Not that I need to worry as I always keep a couple of MPH under the speed limit).;)
They take the picture from the front (so they can identify the driver) There is no flash, and no way of knowing wether you have triggered them or not, other than the notice of prosecution that comes in the post.
Apparently.
They use infra red (well filtered) flash, so they work super good day or night (although beam them and youll give enough infra red radiation at night for a no photo).
They work off 3 pressure lines in the road BEFORE the white line (if painted).
If you think you've been done then stuff newspaper in it, douse it with pertol, put some wood around it, light the blue touch paper and stand back!
Although I wouldnt condone this ;) and i think they are digital, but you would be able to roast marshmallows on it though ;) well worth 60 quid!!

a few well placed High intensity infrared LED's around the number plate should blind the camera enough :D
They are digital, but I believe they store and upload and designated times. Not that I would ever do such a thing but you would have to act quick. Lot of these cameras have been attacked this way though already so watch out, coz they would throw the whole shelf of books at you, not just the one if you were caught! :D
Easy to spot the pressure lines in the road in most cases though.
Worst news is new camera's that are placed in cats eyes, designed for motorways where all traffic is flowing in one direction. They have been trialled successfully apparently. THAT COULD BE BAD! For anyone who exceeds the limits of course, me personally, I'll be ok then.
Pity they don't put so much effort into nicking proper f*cking criminals.
And what about sh!t driving? No-one seems to give a toss about that!
W@nkers.

Give it a few months and we'll all be driving round wearing beards and sunglasses.
And you think I'm joking...
Once again the motorist is turned into the evil wrong dooer by the bacon who can't be @rsed to catch real criminals who might offer some resistance
It's EMU law-enforcement.
Stick your head in the sand and pretend problems are going to go away.......

Like on telly last night, that Journo found a whole load of Albanian pimps with just limited resources... Why haven't the police actually tried looking for criminals like this?
Who's worse? A violent pimp, or a speeding motorist?
Who's easier to catch? A violent pimp, or a speeding motorist?
Who costs the least to prosecute? A violent pimp, or a speeding motorist?
Who has to pay the government a fine? A violent pimp, or a speeding motorist?
Catching which sort of person makes the Police league tables look better? A violent pimp, or a speeding motorist?
What sort of criminal does a Plod have to catch the most of to make his quota, and get his bonus that month? A violent pimp, or a speeding motorist?
The answer is we make it easy for them. Take off your plates, destroy camera's, refuse to admit it was you when you get the NIP... we'll teach those useless Plod a thing or two about criminal activity! If we turn violent they might even ignore us and try to nick old ladies who drop litter instead - but at the mnoment it's easier to catch motorists!

On the pimp program last night it was revealed there are only 12 vice cops for the whole of London. Wonder how many traffic cops there are ?

Everyone feeling feisty today?!!
What we need to deal with those cameras is a paintball gun, drive up past camera, aim at lense and fire.. It'll probably still go off, but I canguarantee it won't see sh1t :)

I say go at the lens with some 50 grit and a long stick!
They'd soon get fed up with buying replacement lenses, and the photo's wouldn't be worth diddly squat!
Either that or a nice coating of hammerite :)
i got flashed last november in aylesbury, it was at 5 in the morning and the road went from a 60 then 40 then straight away it became a 30 and a few yards later a camera was there, 39 in a 30 zone TW@TS £60 fine and 3 points, i was in a work van and my work collegue was leaning in the back for his back and all i heard was, " ey leon, someones taking photos of me" classic line i thought, but my boss could have lost it in paper work or didnt know who the driver was, but no i got it ar5e hole!
What you need it.....
1 X Nine Inch Nail
1 X Lump hammer
1 X Hold nine inch nail to lens
1 X Twat Nine inch Nail with Lump hammer
To put this mathematically
Nine Inch Nail + Lump Hammer + Directional Force = Replacement Lens needed.
Surely what we should all do is print out signs saying "SPEED CAMERA - SLOW" onto A4 or A3 sheets in Bright colours, them laminate them so they dont get wet. Then stick them to the signposts in front of the cameras, just below the signpost!
At least it gives us all a fair chance and will not get us done by the law!
Or buy some of that strpey tape and stick it to the camera (like some decent councils have already done.
They should be there to slow motorists in busy towns (where people roam), not be hidden behind signpost in grey colours to make money!
I am planning to make some signs up & I am going to stick them up! Using covert tactics (ie my mountain bike and a cap)!
Nah,
I prefered the hammer and nail thing ;)
Man, i HATE all this $hit.
Police, speed cameras et al....makes me SOOOOOOO mad!
I decided enough was enough last weekend & fitted a flip plate to my Gixer 750. Flips the top half of the plate over the bottom in less than a second (Whistles innocently).
HeHe, give em a taste of their own medicine! :p
I just flip & go
Skooter.
Just make sure you dont have anything that makes you stand out from the pack on your leathers or paint job ;)
And dont get caught by the rozzers for a routine check, they'll **** you up the ass for flippy plates!!
And I hate the way motor cyclists cant get done by the forward facers, bloody discrimination if you ask me!

I reckon I have found the most dangerous camera in the country...
A361 East Bound from South Molton in North Devon, Just before Tiverton... The road is the old single carriageway with occasional dual carriageway in one direction, anyhow there is a dual carriageway stretch that climbs up a hill and round a left hand bend, then over the crest feeds back in to single carriageway, the speed camera is 20 yards after the merged lanes...
To give you the scenario, I start to overtake an artic at about 80 mph, and I see the merge lane signs so I quickly boot it to get back into the single lane without causing myself or the artic any inconvenience or danger, just as I pass the artic and clear the crest (whilst moving into the single lane again) I spot the camera (60 limit), I anchor up immediately and get down to 60 mph just in time I hope, however the artic is now practically on top of me! I mean, how dangerous is that camera?!
Yes, but think how that money could be used to , say, help keep The Dome empty for another year.
It's a question of priorities and safety ain't at the top of the tree.

Moving down to your area soon Ripper, we'll have to meet up to discuss scrabbly nonsense :D
I covered up all the lenses of a speed camera with underseal once. It was out side my room at uni, and i got pissed off with it going off all the time. Never went off again while i was in that house.
On flip number plate front, i overtook a capri a while back, he canned it to get in front of me, then his number plate flipped over to sat "fcuk you too", which i thought was hilarious. I can just imagine the face of the people who process the speeding fines if it was used to avoid the cameras.
