Just been flicking through my old pics when I cam accross one I took in Crete last year as the only car seen in 2 weeks that had something different done to it. Yeah it was only a sticker but that was the most heavily modified car Id seen. In Stokholm early last year and all could could see was volvo's with tinted windows, although I know they do modify & tune over there in Sweden. In madrid the Taxis seemed to be the only thing's that had been fettled with by the owners, big flipping crucifixes hanging off any knob/button/mirror and prayer beeds allover (it didnt instill much confidence) In Rome the must have look is a 1001 dents on the front of your car. Do other countries restrict what you can do? are they realy that strict? seems strange that you can go to all theses place and not see anything and then step off the plane here and nearly get knocked over by kev mobile theres so many of them. Whats the score Europe? will we get banned from tuning if we ever join up to the nanny state?
well if that`s the case they can feck off!!  Well i will!! to Japan ;) :D :D
If you think that is bad news in OZ the SVA equivalent is in the hands of people that defy polite description, they do things to cars that leave you breathless in shock, the break switches, hammer numbers on important structural members [that hurts, no matter which way you look at it] and generally get the car grubby and violate it totally, and then it costs you a friggin fortune to get the off these bleeders, I have seen the results and it makes you feel sick to your stomach, one State has just 2 'Companies' licenced to perform this butchery.
I'll see if I can post some photo's but be warned, they will make you wince.
I saw an article on Autospeed very recently, showing the exact process for this. It's certainly thorough.
Kev mobiles?

Yeah, Kevs alright, even if he does have a penchant for the slightly unsubtle scoops and spoilers of our Japanese Rice brethren :D j/k.
I know the French government don't allow any engine mods at all...
Why is that? There aren't any French cars that are fast as standard, not since the Renault Alpine anyway.
Are they scared of what might happen if the militant farmers could travel great distances in one day to protest at more than one location! :D ;)
I've heard they mod cars in Wales. :D

I've been to Wales - and the roads are well suited to it... i.e. you hit a sheep, and decide to stick a sharper/harder bumper on to take less damage next time! Then you tune the engine so said sheep is sliced in two by extra momentum rather than crumpling body panels! ;)

Yes, that's the sad truth...
And insurance companies are in the same train.
NO MODS to the engine at all, and they can complain too if you mod the handling of the car, and various other things (springs, wheel size, body kits, windows tainting, etc...)
They tend to be a little more "cool" on that side ("chassis" modding) though.
I you have an accident with a modded engine: you are no longer insured if the expert sees it...
You guys are in the coolest country in Europe for car modding
Cheers

Tis ok mate, notalot of peeps liked it, and even more disliked the EVO spoiler (digs bout shopping trolley handles and ironing boards etc.).
But i like it, and if nothing else, it makes the car individual;) :D :D
