What is the index file in windows\temporary internet files\content.IE5

Why can't I see it in the window and how do I clear all the contents to rid my PC of all the dodgy sites I have browsed over the years?

Delete all the other files in the directory.
Reboot!
Then delete the file.
You cant usually delete the file as it says in use.
Used to know what it was for but ive forgotton.

If I remember rightly u can get round it thus:

-Open the file in notepad.
-Delete the contents.
-save and close

Voila. Files' still there but nowts in it.

I think thats how to do it anyway....

Just tried to opn it with notepad and it said the file was in use by another process and couldn't be accessed :(

Thats why you need to reboot.
Delete the file/contents before you open any applications.:)

Or download Tweak UI or Tweak XP, think thats get rid of 'em for ya.:D
