View Full Version : Tunnels
Does anyone know of any tunnels near the Swansea-ish area and I don't mean the rubbish under the train tracks ones  . I've just got me new exhaust and.... well you can guess the rest  :ghey:
I don't fancy going all the way to the Brynglas ( )tunnels just to make some noise :smash:
I can't think of any, so if any of you can shed any light on this it'd be great
P.S. If l ever have the balls :ghey: I'll try and make it to a meet one day :o
LOL. Big exhausts and turbo cars sound awesome in tunnels
Brynglas are probably the best though  The drive up to Japfest with sw-cc produced some nice sounds ;)
Theres one under the railway in neath(slow speed only though!)
sounded good in martgti6's car though
sorry just read your post properly(doh) :wack:
it a fairly long tunnel though

How do you get there? :)
They don't have to be in the immediate area, just not Brynglas distance (though I'll probably end up going through there  )
EDIT: What's the speedlimit in the Brynglas tunnels?

brynglas, are they the ones in cardiff.. if they are, they sound so awesome, and they aint the shortest of tunnels either
Not sure of road names but the neath tunnel is off the road with the abbey nightclub on,hard to direct if not familiar with area.
It is a long low tunnel, but more of a stop and rev for best effect :D
Is that anywhere near to the Britania or Briton or some pub beginning with 'B' (I think anyway :wack: )

if you mean the one on the corner opposite the rail station it used to be called the big cam iirc

TBH mate, I have no idea where it is, I just know someone who used to drink in a pub beginning with 'B'. Pretty (un)sure it's called Brit.... something :)

Apart from BrynGlas theres the Butetown tunnel in Cardiff, which is a good 1/2 mile long but watch for speed cameras. Theres one even further than BrynGlas which is on the A40 (I think) just before Monmouth. But its a very nice scenic drive :)
I know theres one that goes under the sea in Conwy.... bit of a treck that tho
:wack:

It'll take you about an hour and half to get to the brynglas tunnels (in Newport on the M4) and the ones in Monmouth add about another hour dependin on traffic at the moment! Any road under a railway bridge works perfectly! It may only be short but you get a better sound back off the metal bridge and can scare the s*** out of anyone wlkin under them :D !

The ones in cardiff are prob the best around lol
Brynglass is good as you can give it some beanz legaly through there lol
IMO Cardiff one is still the best :)
Used to go there nearly everynight just to listen to my SuperDrager at full tilt :D
What's the speed limit in the Cardiff tunnel then chaps? Oh and how do you get there?
It's going to be about 50+ miles from me andI'm still going to go there  , God..... I'm so :ghey: lol :smash:
Can't rememebr off the top of my head think its 70 though there used to be a 50 zone in place a while ago and not sure if that is still there.
Its easy to find if you know the Cardiff Bay Area. Or when you head into Cardiff via the slip road past Culverhouse Cross etc just follow that road all the way to the end (en route there will be turnings off to Leckwith/Ninian Park, then Asda and Ikea etc) then you reach the tunnels :)

If you're on the M4 just leave at the junction for Barry/Cardiff West (J33) and stay on that road for about 10 miles, that will take you through the tunnel.
Temptation to mention ............ wives/girlfriends of certain Welsh members ............ becoming tooo much ................. :wack:

Glad to see everything worked out for you fella
Awesome!!! Congrats tone
Will have to have a look next week or something :)
It was very amusing the way the traffic built up behind Tony on the way into the tunnels :wack: My window was open so I got the full effect of him opening it up a bit ;) I was 3 cars behind him and his DV was almost as loud as his exhaust :notworthy
As I said at the time that sounds fecking awesome mate
you just need to learn how to keep it in a straight line now
