Anyone had problems with BT Surftime??
I subscribed about a year and a half ago through LineOne.
Soon after I had a 2nd phone line installed and decided I wanted the Surftime moved over to the second line. Called LineOne - who told me this was not possible and I would have to cancel the contract and sign up to a new one. To cancel I'd have to write to their head office.. blah blah blah and I couldn't be ar*ed afterwards.
Two months ago thought about doing it again so called LineOne (now Tiscali) who said no problem. Took the details of the new number over the phone and said the details would be updated overnight.
Tried to use the new line to connect and lo and behold.. it worked!
The problem has come about when my phone bill came in this month. It has turned out the while the connection was switched to the new line the Surftime discount was still on my old number. The result? A sodding great £250 in internet call charges!!!! As opposed to the £30 per quarter Surftime charge.
Called L1 who now said they have done everything their end and that its a cock up by BT. Called BT who say nothing to do with them - they haven't had the instruction from L1.
So what am I supposed to do?? Both parties are blaming each other and none will admit any sort of responsibility.. What course of action can I take?
Its obviously a balls up as Surftime is per telephone line. You are not supposed to be able to connect on a phone line not registered.. If you catch my drift.
Sorry for the rant and cheers if you can make any suggestions.
