We've always used Alan Jeffery. He knows his stuff, but he can overstretch himself sometimes.

always used john at carb injection but i dont think hes into the boy racer seen anymore as a mate of mine knows him really well and john seems to only be building and tuning hotrod redtop 16v vauxhall engines nowdays. so i guess that only leaves allen then.

shall we arange a full day with allen if we can get enough 200's interested?
i think that we will all learn loads and it would be a mini meat as well?

ideas anybody  or

Had a power run and timing setup with allen, had to retard the timing as the car was detting its tits off. That was about a year and a half ago though and he does not like any electronic stuff like avcr's and hks evc's.

Prefers simply things like bleed valves.

Best guys in Plymouth are AP Motors in Plympton 01752 335333, they do all the SVA stuff for Torque Imports (Newton Abbot), and Performance cars (Plymouth)

They also did my full engine rebuild on my S14a, now i goes like the dogs :censored: whenever i go down the place is crammed full of nissans and other not so nice jap stuff

they are moving in december to new premises with a full 4x4 rolling road setup. not that impressive for RWD but still a bit special :Plug:

i just recently been to AJ's to a rolling road day [see my post in s13 tech]. if we arrange it as a group and tell him, he does a power run for 20 quid. [if there is a prob he will have a bit of a look to and have a yap with ya. you get print outs of bhp and torque.

i had heard mixed about him but after 2 RR days i think he is a good bloke. very accomidating.

id be up for it as i gonna turn up the boost soon and + new zorst so wanna see the extra ponies i get.

Hi Stokes,

Just been reading about your rolling road session, nice figs, will be looking to do a rr sess with AJ as soon as i get my elecronic boost control. so i'd be up for a dyno shootout with the other s/dev boys.

last time i went onthe rr at aj was 3k after my full enine re-build this aug and i was turning out 253 at the fly on std boost, this was before i got a full mongoose ss exhaust and ss manifold.

The garage ( AP Motors) that did all the work estimate approx 285bhp now

im almost ready, hopefully by the end of the week. just some grinding and some tapping, then its on with the clutch and gearbox. sort out the IC pipework and im away.

End of the month would be better for me but ill still come along and watch if the engine etc arent run in by the time you guys have the session

sounding better already!
ive fitted my blitz fmic and its doing 2psi more without touching anything else!

when i took it to the bristol RR meet on the 19 dec 2004 it was 234bhp on 10psi
so it should be at least 250 now i would have thought.

come on then who else is up for it then?

http://www.apmotors.co.uk is the better one in the near future as they are getting a 4WD RR, t be ready for end of jan of there abouts.

Jeff charged me £15 for my run, which was like 15 seconds with an auto and gave a figure of 135bhp! So less than impressed at his setup to be honest.

Hi guys

Was down AP last Thurs evening, talking to Andy who owns the place about the RR and he was telling me that the unit is due to be fitted next week !!! as long as the builders turn up this week to dig the pit. :smash:

When it is finally fitted I will let you all know as he has promised me one of the first run up's

If any of you are looking to go down to see them, then as i stated in a previous post they have moved, the new unit is down Newnam Industrial Estate, opposite Victor Barry Tires.

AJ is alright, but my car left there once with a lot of detting. I would only ever use him for a power run (which would now be a clomplete waste of time seeing as my current car has a stated 90bhp at the fly :) )

RR still in customs at the mo :annoyed:

According to andy they have got Jap performance and Banzai coming down for RR day's but the only one that is confirmed at the mo is Chav Power on the 26th March, so lots of Nova's :ghey: and Saxo's :ghey: clogging up the place :hurl:

mammoth
21-01-2005, 16:42
would be good if a load of use could turn up to the jap performance and banzai days to give them some support

just had some break pads fitted and a long old chat, they seem to know their stuff and I'd say once the 4x4 rollers in they will be the best place to go in the south west .

The workshop was full with all jap cars inc a R33 an Evo 7 and a pooberooo :D

If we can get enough people together any idea how much a power run/air fuel mix check etc might cost?

MAC200
29-01-2005, 20:38
Don't know wouldn't of thought it would be anymore than £30 to £40

Alan's new Rollers are sat in Customs at the mo waiting to come over so hopfully they will be up and going for end of March
