Hi Lads,

Still reasonably new to the sxoc. Just wondered if the meets were private amongst you lads or if new members could come......like me :) Do i have to join the north west region club as well as the sxoc main club?
Also, where are the meets held and when. If its during the week at night, i may struggle cause i work nights  but if they're at weekends, the jobs a dream! (i suppose i could take the night off though)

Nice one lads.

Andy.

Dr Bob
17-11-2004, 02:12
no need to join the club unless you want a pint or a three course meal at Mascrat from me. you're welcome to bob along. we are a friendly bunch sometimes :wack: . Mascrat is always second monday of the month; Yorkshire OPO meet is third thursday.

next weekend thing will be the RR meet at Prosport on the 27th, and you'll be made welcome if you bob along there. if you fancy running then check the separate thread and sign up if there are spaces.

welcome

The Mascrat meet is a bloody big turnout of nice jap cars. Vez comes down from Preston way so it might be good to convoy down with him.

So, the next meet is 13th december, I finish work for xmas on 10th dec, so i can make that night

You lads dont happen to know/remember a guy called Dez that used to be a regular on the website, had a white s14. Used to go to these meets regular. from preston? I work with him, may roll down with him and he can tell you stories of how good his saxo VTS is!!!! :ghey:

At the bottom of the sliproad is a roundabout with a pub on it. Stop at the pub

A few first timers have said it's hard to break into established groups of people already chatting.
Same as any other similar situation, just stick your head in, introduce yourself, and offer to buy everyone beer. Can't fail :)

Sir Nodrick
18-11-2004, 05:32
I can understand why people may say its hard to be accepted into an established group, but i shall try my best to fit in. My experience of the lads on the forum i've talked to through the threads upto now has proven them to be a good set of lads so i'm sure it'll be cool

Just been on multimap and searching the web for mascrat manor pub and have got directions just in case vez leaves me for dust on the motorway!!!! he he.

Is it a pub meet inside or do you hang around outside with the cars like at a cruise?

Just whilst i'm on, when someone says on the website that their car has been "de-bricked", does that mean they've no cat? I'm fully de-bricked aswell (only joking officer!)

As has been said, Mascrat is a jap car meet so it is a bit difficult to know who is SXOC and who is there with another marque. Best plan is to look for groups of people looking in the engine bay of a 200 for shiny bits and just butt into the conversation. Have a look at the who's who thread and you may be able to recognise some of us from that

I think I'll be in my S14 this time for a change. Look for a white S14 and the chances are it will be me. Or Tombs. Or TomM as he's taken to calling himself now

I don't think I've ever met TomM (apologies if I have) but I can see Tombs being a problem for a doctor.

Tbone
12-12-2004, 19:24
andy

give us an idea of what you need?

andyf
12-12-2004, 19:27
well, Ant is I think popping over tonight to take a look at it .

Problem is this - Turbo Timer and AVC-R are plumbed into the S14 ecu. At the moment the AVCR is getting power through the back of the turbo timer, so everything currently shuts off when you turn ignition off. The problem is that a) the AVC-R isn't reading the RPM sensor properly, and b) its not actually controlling boost since it was rewired for power.

So preferably, and if possible, I'd like the turbo timer stripped out as I don't use it, and the AVC-R set up 100%. The Turbo Timer has a working RPM sensor so I guess the AVC-R could just use whatever it is using and life should be good.

Not sure what's needed. Tools, and lots of wire/solder, patience? :)

Kuddy
12-12-2004, 20:27
lots of light would be a good starting point  It's a bit dark at Mascrat.

Ant's just worked some minor magic on the car and refitted a Bren device ;) we're back up to 1 bar again :D
