View Full Version : ISPs
I'm only on a BT standard package & I've started having nightmares about my phone bill!
One option is the BT surf together package but this only allows ISPs with no's starting 0844 04.
Any advice / recommendations etc?

Hi Tracy,
Switch to BTOpenworld Surftime if you can wait to log on to the internet til after 6.00pm. "Free" unlimited surfing from 6.00pm to 8.00am Monday to Friday and "free" unlimited surfing from 6.00pm Friday to 8.00 am Monday. For about £13 a month added to your phone bill. Might not be the cheapest, but I,ve been using Surftime for over a year now. Only drawback is that you are disconnected every two hours. Just click on your connection and you are back to where you were left.
Would change to Broadband if they did it in this area.

;) ;)
Have had lots of probs in the past with ISPs running out of lines (or whatever the technical term for that is!) - no such probs with the BT one?
have also seen Claranet which looks OK...but don't know anyone that uses it. (£9.99/month for unlimted access at nite)

I can thoroughly recommend NTL Broadband.
Permanment connnection, easy consistant 70k/sec dow (on any half-decent site), connected to my little lan through a router/print server, it has been very stable. And after the bills I ran up on penny-a-minute 25 quid a month aint THAT much :)
Pays for itself in the music and films that can be downloaded...
Cheers, Phil
I recommend Cable or DSL broadband. Assuming it's available in your area. The websites for NTL / Telewest / BT should have some form of checker.
Cheers Andy. not sure that cable is available, but thanks for the reminder - I'll check it out
Y do u need it anyway?
Surely u dont spend that much time online:confused:  :p
I pay £16 a month for aol anytime, does me fine.
