Hey all  ,

Its my 1st drift day at Bovingdon on Sunday, Ive never even been to spectate so Im not really sure what to expect.

Wheel choice is the main query, Im currently running 19's but also have the standard wheels. Am I better off running 16's all round rather than just on the back?

Im going to get new 19" rubber in a minute so i could run on the old 19" tyres but Im guessing this would probably be too much in the dry for a beginner?

And how many sets of rear tyres am I likely to use? rough guides for wet and dry use as I know a lot will depend how much stick I give it (car is only running 250bhp )

Any other advice/tips you can give me, what sort of stuff might I need?

And lastly, if anyone has a digi camera and could take a couple of pics of me assuming I pull off the odd half decent drift, Id be very grateful as my workmates are taking the piss

I'd stick yer 16s on to be honest mate, and while In was there I'd pump up the rears to 40psi to reduce the contact patch.
Bin the 19s for the day, there is a chance of kerbing and scuffing which frankly you just dont want. esp. on 19s.

I would take your 19s with you and swap to your standard rims on the rear when you get there, then you will have a road legal set left to drive home in. If it is dry you will prob get through at least one set of tyres, maybe more depending on the surface, how much time you are out, the amount of tread and how soft the compound of the tyres you are using are...take as many as you can.
and have fun! :)

Just been to the garage and got the new rubber and 19's fitted back on, looks soo much better after 2 months of standard wheels  Ive also had a touch of luck, as while I was there I looked through some of their old tyres and Ive got myself 4 x 205/55 and 2 x 205/50. Im goin back at 7pm to collect them so will try and find a few more. It means I can keep my 4 legal 16 inch tyres for winter use as well.

Cheers for the tip about the psi too astraboy  had'nt thought about that
