Don't know if any of you have read the Guardian from last week....one article in particular was a good read, copied from their website:
----------------------------------------------
Cruisers are causing a headache for homeowners
CAR park cruisers are causing a hazard for motorists and a headache for homeowners in Woolston after they moved to a new venue on Hardwick Grange.
After being moved on from various locations across the town, including Riverside retail park, Birchwood shopping centre and the Centre Park industrial estate, the cruisers have now found a new home.
But, once again, neighbours to the new site have voiced their annoyance at the subsequent noise levels and damage to roads and verges.
Residents living nearby claim that the Grange is fast becoming increasingly reminiscent of the Santa Pod racetrack, after hundreds of cruisers began to meet regularly at the spot and race down the long straight road.
The group meets around once a week after dark at the Mascrat Manor pub before converging on Hardwick Grange, just as workers from the Safeway distribution plant finish their shifts.
One Safeway employee said: "The road is in total chaos by around 10pm as the gathering has grown to around 300 to 400 racers plus spectators all wanting to turn cars around and back onto the grass verges for the best view.
"Several complaints have been made to the police but their response seems to be that the road is away from the public and not used at that time of night and if we move them on they will only go somewhere else."
l Cheshire Police were unavailable for comment on the matter as the Guardian went to press.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Especially like the 'meet once a week at Mascrat Manor'....didn't know there was a meet every week....must just be me whose been going down once a month then. :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:
Few people I know have already mailed the Guardian....
