Ok guys, somethings prompted me to ask for your help.

Can everyone mail me with locations of cameras in your area, or you pass on your way to work or whatever. Basically, I thought I'd collate all the data which will no doubt prove useful, 'specially for events etc when we use roads we don't know that well.

Please give as much info as you think we need to spot the camera, like this maybe:

M25 Anticlockwise - Approx 1 mile before J25, on the left, by the bridge.

M25 Anticlockwise - Just before the Homesdale Tunnel at J25, on the left.

M25 Anticlockwise - On the slip road from J25 to the roundabout for the A10.

(just in case some of you didn't know the above)

What dya reckon, good idea or not?

Mail them to admin@200sxoc.com

If you buy a Morpheus, it'll tell you where everything is.
It works on GPS, so isn't illegal.

I found a site with all this info on a couple of years ago. I'll try and find it again and let everyone know.

Where do we start???

A140, approaching A14 down hill on dual carriage way, 50MPH limit. Got flashed by this bastid.Grr:mad: Waiting for the ticket.

A14, fookin loads along the both cariageways west of the M11. Some normal Gatsos and a ton of front facers.

A12 inside the M25. LOADS. Do not speed unless you know exactly where they are. Includes traffic light cameras at nearly every set.

I like the Prestonian Attitude towards spedd cameras....

There was a new one being put in over the bridge from Penwortham, White lines down, and the plinth with the poer in and everything...just waiting for the camera to be installed.

Looked the following week, and someone had dug up the concrete plinth with a pnuematic Hammer and nicked the transformer.....

Someone also nicked the prototype Digital Gatso 5 days after installation thats on the way to Blackpool!!

Great here init!

Is that the one down on the Docks near the Car Dealerships?
It's great to be able to drive to and from work and NEITHER side of the road has a working speed camera. It would have been more than classic if they put another one in, and that got pinched too.

I'm guessing but I think he's referring to the stretch of dual carriageway where there are speed cameras for both directions of traffic right next to each other, neither of which actually have a camera unit!

I saw a similar thing to that near Newmarket last year. Two blokes in a tractor pulling a Gatso down with a chain.

More in Preston:

Coming up from the Tickled Trout down New Hall Lane, outside the BP garage they've just painted the camera yellow.

Heading past Deepdale Retail Park towards Sainsburys opposite the disused Esso garage a new Gatso has been installed. It was correctly pointed, but now it's looking at someone's house! No markers have been painted in the road yet, although there is a VASCAR point.

Continuing down Blackpool Road, across the A6 cross road and down the duel carriageway but before you get to West End Toyota, another new Gatso installed. Aimed correctly but again no road markings yet. Also traffic signal cameras at those traffic lights.

Cameras on London Road as you drop down the hill outside the car auctions on your way to the Capitol Centre. These are still grey.

Mobile Gasto is kicking about in the back of a fully painted up Galaxy.

Cheers,
Alex

I saw it....

(The mobile gatso)

Proceeded to slow traffic by driving in the middle of Duel carriageway with hazzards on, and tapping brake lights....

Im very popular with the feds around here ;)

Oh...

And they have redone the concrete this week :(

Ready for another dig up soon though :)

Good news from Aberdeen...

The nasty b£$%^&d camera on the Perth dual carriageway was recently destroyed when in the windy storms two artics were blown into it - nothing left - at all. Now theres an idea......

A1 1/4 mile either side of Sandy roundabout it's a 50mph limit cameras are turned round at regular intervals so both directions are covered.

Old Wolverton road in MK just saw this one today, used to rag along here daily. Camera has orange/yellow reflective sticker on both sides

Mr Akimoto

Mr Akimoto has been known to deface speed camera lenses with Matt Black spraypaint.

If you are willing to help Mr Akimoto with his endevours, buy a painters extension (5ft pole with can attached) Mr Akimoto's brand is 'J blackwell & Son' but there are many more whatever your location may be.

This road leads into Bournemouth off the main motor ways.

BEWARE!

There are a few lay-by's on the first part of the road, seen quite a few coppers parked up, speed gun in hand. But after you go over the main fly over there are a total of 8 speed cameras.

3 of them are double sided and believe me they all work they are a very nice earner for Dorset Finest!

Its a good road for racing, just learn where the cameras and your laughing. Also look at for a V plate green Volve T5 (I think), unmarked copper also I know the old bill were using a ****e Cav SRI for catching boy racer, dunno if they still use it, I know it was a C plate.

Hope this helps

Ha ha ha.

Everyday, someone has a whinge about our little friend the speed cameras and how unjust they are, and that the police just use them as a revenue earner. And they are so unfair and I dont see the point of them and whinge whinge whinge whinge whinge.

then you get some one who posts that the road is a good road for racing

THIS is why the police put the cameras on this road .. to try and stop people from racing on it ..... sure they dont 100% work, nothing does. (prisons dont stop people from comitting crime etc etc).

Take it like men ..... if you obey the law (I am not saying the law is right) and dont go above the speed limit, then you have nothing to worry about ....... if you do choose to disregard the laws put down and you get done for it ... then that was your choice .. live with it

Oh and for the record .. I dont like speed cameras because

1) they stop me from racing other cars on public roads,
2) they cause me to brake suddenly from 100mph down to 60mph, which is way more dangerous and publicly more unacceptable than driving at 40mph over the speed limit
3) I can no longer do 60mph in areas where children play
4) I am unable to drive at 70mph on the motorway without looking at my speedometer continually because I am a crap driver
5) When I am speeding I dont have time to look for road markings or speed cameras, which are now bright yelow ... so when I see them at the last minute I have to brake dangerously ... lucky for me it has never been a person or a horse that I have failed to see and flown through at 80mph.

Speed cameras are not there to catch you out ... they are just there. If you break the law they take a picture, if you dont they are just yellow boxes.

I have never been caught out by a speed camera, but I do have several points for being pulled by unmarked police cars ...... now why arnt these pigs out catching real criminals ??? ..... all I was trying to do was race other cars on public roads ... its sooo unfair.

Last Saturday I think Essex pigs were having an open day on speeders....

Fortunately Essex has had to paint all their vans bright colours so can bee seen for miles, even by Steve Wonder  :D

However they had a T5 on the A414 going from the A12 into Chelmsford, guy had it half hidden in some bushes using a Laser from the drivers side.

I was doing 90+ :D Far be it for me to speed anywhere ;) Never got me, stoopid plod :p cause I was on the R1 which has small plate ON THE BACK :D :D :D He didn't even bother to start the car :D

Now I know where they were when some git was trying to steal the stereo out of my car

I'm surprised that Plod hasn't bothered to try some sort of subscription system where you pay £10 per month and they let you off if they get you. (Oh sorry they already do that - you just have to be in the fuzz).
