I know a boy that had about 300bhp out of his.

Talk to smithy@manx.net he may be able to help you.

Have a look on my thread "BLUEBIRD TURBOS" on page 2 of "non 200sx related chat" for things mainly about the engine as the Bluebird and Silvia engine are ALMOST identical.

Yeh.....allow 2 or 3 days:rolleyes:

Did the Bluebird one a couple of years back, bl**dy nightmare.

Replace the head bolts, don't refit the ones you undo.
Have a Haynes manual by your side.

When I did it, I was lucky I caught it as it was about to go. I was paranoid about things going wrong, one day when I was parking at work, I noticed more exhaust vapour than normal. I started keeping an eye on the water level, it was using a little. Did a compression test, cylinders were fine except one which was different from the rest......car was off the road straight away.

Because I caught it, I got away with having to skim the head. So when I was taking everything apart, I left the injection unit complete aswell as the exhaust manifold. Took 2 of us to "safely" lift the head off the block....cleaned everything up, then refitted the engine.
When the head was off I was prepared to strip everything had the head been damaged, thankfully everything was fine.

Success.:D

Good luck with yours.;)

I need your opinions on this one guys, what do you think? I've already told him 900 is FAR to much for a car with not mot or tax he's willing to nogotiate the price..

Nissan Silvia 1800 Turbo- E-Reg - White - 37,800 Genuine Miles - Abso.
Immac. Original Interior - Full Electrics, Air Con (Even Orig Stereo).
Upholstery Unmarked from original. Brand New Battery (£60) - Little MOT but
will sail through. Original Alloys. Garaged for last 7 years - taken out
once a week to keep her running (Air Con) Etc. Does however require new
turbo and a slight bonnet dent putting right - otherwise bodywork
immaculate. some aging on rear rubber spoiler (Of Course!)
£900 for car (with manual) will consider any sensible
offers

Gone off that one, he's doesn't sound to convincing. He says the turbos has been knackered since he's had it. What 7 years?!?!!? Somethings not right there........

Ah well, I'll keep looking.....

Hi Dave

I don't know whether you saw my thread a couple of months ago,
but I have for free an S12 just for someone to collect it. No MOT
or tax and needs replacement power steering rack fitted - replacement supplied. Needs small repair to nearside sill - rear end, but is too good to break. It is though a 'B' reg and has not moved for 3 yrs. I also have a genuine Nissan workshop manual to go with it.

Paz mate, I'm told that the CA18DET Head gasket is used by the S12 boys as an upgrade.

Perhaps, either one of the smithy's can help you out there.
