View Full Version : OPT Clean up in Germany!!!
Brett Castle and Julian Smith got first and second place respectively in the Sport Auto 2004 Drift Challenge that took place at the Nurbergring in Germany over the weekend.
There was a tough field of about 40 odd cars that took part and most of them were completely car crazy Germans who live for motorsport and had the cars to show it, However OPT were victorious with the humble Nissan 200SX taking first place!
Congratulations to Brett, Julian and everyone one else who took part!!
Also some shocking news for you even I took part and I didn’t come last! :D
See you all at the UKD1 Final on the 3rd October! :Plug:
Cheers,

fantastic stuff Manish
Great news! Any photos from the event?
There were loads of photographers there but I'm not sure of any links to the shots taken. If anyone comes across any sites hosting the photos please post them here.
The german arm of the SXOC were there giving us there support and I know they took loads of photos . so if you have a contact for them please ask them to post the photos on this site.
Thanks
Manish.

:( thats a shame I had aride in it and it was amazing
Great news Mash
 Did that beemer go over???
No that driver was a complete nutter, he went into the corner really quick but mangaged to keep it going after his excurtion into the gravel.
The next day we all went to the Nordschleife and that driver gave Julian a passenger ride. Julian came back and told us that the car got airborne on more than one occation!
We had a great time. and driving flat out on the Nordschleife is amazing, I cant wait to go again.
I think that pic is very nice toooo..

Yes it's a sweet pic! Thats me hanging out of the passenger window as Brett and Champ do their standing burnouts... I got carried away with the moment. :)
Fantastic!! I wonder if we can attract more European drivers to UKD1 events in the future?
Fantastic is the perfect word! There were more 200ies on the ring than any other car!! Really great!
One of our members talk with Brett(?) if it would be possible to organize a Meeting in UK next year to practise drifting and have a good time...

I got a Video of the Competition, and a lap at the northloop (old Nürburgring) with the guys srifting there :-), but I can´t put it on my PC :-(
I´ve put it on an VHS-tape today, and I´m going to send it to Brett this week.
And I´ve done a lap there with Brett - unbelivable!
Its a very good Idea to go to the UK next year @Angelus! I´m with you :-)
btw. is everything alright with KIKI´s wiring loom now?
That weekend was the best i´ve spent at the ring :-)
regards Martin
