View Full Version : I'm going slightly mad
just very slightly mad.
It's finally happening, I'm going slightly mad...
I need a new job. IN fact, I am applying 2nite for one in Massachusets (sp?) and Arkansaw (sp?). And yes, I'll get the place names right on the letter!!! Too tired to care at this second.
I could quite cheerfully throttle my boss...
rant over. thanks
good luck then mate - you already spell like an american I see!! :D :)
How will you go about getting a green card, etc?

Bugger - was going to apply then a Rook flew in behind my bath. That's the black birdie not the chess piece. WHY???????? GRRRR
Anyway, much oiled, here I am now....
Ahem
Anyway, yes
If I sleep with the CEO, no problem. Alternatively, if they are willing to sponcer my introduction to the grand US of A then I can get granted all the paperwork as they are short of "creative" sector types.
I looked into it all while my fiancee was alive coz I was thinking about moving there so we could be together.
But yeah, if I got the job then could get sponsored through under "Work Immigration" status.
As they say in West Sussex, "Nifty".
As for spelling like an American, it was just after I came out of a long, boring and pointless meeting. I now know that you should spell them:
MasssssAchewsheeets and R-ken-Saw respectively
;)
I hate this job...
fingers crossed for Mass. I guess!
ANyone else loathe their job and their boss? Anyone else feel tied down?

Amen brother! ;) Yeah, I've been in my job for 8 years and have been happy, but not now, and I want out. Reconsidering my options. I've been thinking about a career change to something with computers, either using them or building / repairing them. I even looked at the States 5 years ago, wonder why I didn't go for that? Canada is looking interesting at the minute... ;)

I work for a transport company (in the transport office) delivering goods for a large supermarket chain... Where good food costs less... But it sucks. Seriously. They have cut everything to the minimum, there's paperwork for everything that you do, and the job satisfaction has long gone! :( I've got a "very good friend" who lives in Canada, and for two pins I would go out there and live with her... Very tempting... :D :D :D :D :D
Also considering a change of career. Might look at something with computers - building / repairing / programming them, but I don't have any formal qualifications. I know my way around them though. ;)

Go for Canada mate, you only get one shot at "life"
I know what you mean about 0 job satisfaction. All i want to do is cry all day long i am so fed up. but being a bloke, its stiff upper lip and all...
;(
Well I'm at a crossroads right now, and don't know which way to turn. Part of me wants to be with my special friend in Canada, but another part wants to stay here and have her here with me. I've applied for a couple of other jobs, and am looking at courses doing stuff with computers.
Having no job satisfaction does suck, and you're right, it's got to be a stiff upper lip, but that sucks!

I guess it comes down to which part you want most. In either event, she'll be with you. Could you cope with uprooting and starting an entire new life? If you couldn't cope with that, could your friend?
But you know what - nothing need be forever. If you go to Canada and it doesn't work, there is nothing stopping your returning. And then you can say "At least I tried". Don't miss what might be a golden opportunity...
Why do you think I@m going for a job in Arkansas and Mass?!!?!?!?
ok, wise words over...
Five years ago I was really close to packing it all in and moving to Texas, even had a friend out there who had arranged a job for me, but then situations changed, love went away, and I decided to stick.
I don't know if I could uproot now and go to Canada. Just for me I probably could, the only thing that worries me is leaving my family, sure I'd be better off out there, but I'd worry about my parents being left on their own. My friend is seriously considering coming over here to live, and that would be the best solution...
I'm looking for places that specialise in cheap airfare to Canada BTW... ;)
