I went tyre scrounging yesterday, and the guy I spoke to at the garage was spectating at Silverstone last Sunday.

He is thinking of taking his van to the final, so I said I'd post up here to see if it'd be worth his while or not.

So-what sizes would be the best for him to take, and what is a reasonable price for a tyre, including fitting? A tenner, maybe?

If there is a decent response, I'll let him know, and also what size tyres he should be hoarding

Yeah sounds like a good idea to me, doesn't need to worry about bringing tyres for me though, since I have some of my own.

I thought that most of us have tyres. Maybe if he brings some road legal partworns for the drive home?:)

£5 is the norm for a straight swopover without being balanced

I meant supply and fit. I guess he could fit your own tyres, and a fiver sounds reasonable to me.:)

make sure to check with Option.... silverstone may be strict about traders appearing from nowhere :)

I don't think it's worth it really, even on the hotest tyre melting day there, I only used 2 pairs of tyres..

yeah, maybe if there was more than 10mins track time it could be useful, otherwise I can't see anyone not being able to drive home on the rubber they arrived on:(
