As soon as I had the idea it became very clear this wasn't a very good idea. Feel free to delete :D

It was just an idea off the cuff and not fully thought through... still it is stored for future reference :)

Maybe a "lead me not into temptation" type of scoring system, he who gives in loses

a propper touge course in the uk would be my idea of fun ;)

Maybe a fantasy street drift is that allowed? heres my suggested location

Tempting! :) looks less like street and more like touge though, which is ++ in my book.

I've seen many good B-routes for drifting, there's a nice 5 hair-pin section near Frinton in Essex, maybe we should ask the council to rent it out for drifting.... :wack: :whip:

you never know, they close roads for rallies, maybe they will for drifting :)

SteveCarter200

Closing off an area of a docks would be better I reckon. Less to hit and more private and privately owned.

its the road leading up to (And down from ) the Ffestiniog Pumped Storage Scheme in north Wales. its halfway up Moelwyn Mawr so its really twisty and steep.
Now THATS a touge run :notworthy

How about drift competitions on hill climb locations, I know Jezz from Horsham developements do hill climbs, should ask him whether the routes for hill climbs are suitable for drifting, with climbing it's definitly a turbo sport but with down hill it's definitly for me and ma 86...

The good thing is that there are already races operating on those, it's just a matter of adding another event onto the program/schedule...

Gurston Down is just up the road from, I know the owner too. Not sure its such a driftable place but it'd be fun. Good places to watch from too.

ACE IDEA!!! TOUGE!!!!

Would they let us run 2 cars at once I wonder...hmmm Wouldn't even need to be a 'drift' course, just proper legal touge would be sweet.

Morf
28-08-2004, 12:13
I cant see why so long as the two cars realise and except the risk it can't happen (unlike twin drift :()

Bon Bon

I'd be well up for some touge battles, that'd be effing sweet.

Umm yes?

Just clapping to your idea. But the only concern would be safety. Saying that, the UK has LOOADs of industrial estates, maybe some of the business owners wouldn't mind if safety was a priority on off-hours or something :D

all in england this stuff :\ no use for me.... but heres a local offering from me; prob is they public roads :(:(:(

^^ ok, see to the right and up from the bottom, theres a full black tarmac (double lane) with bright white lines and new catseyes most of the way to the bridge where the land meets near the top of the loch in the picture (that bridge is big, so you get an idea of scale, its jus noticable) and its a dead tight windy road all the way from there right around the loch to where the cars parked, and its up and down hill, the odd straight where one could possibly get to 100+mph (obv this is a guess ;))

http://www.electricscotland.com/pictures/p7059.jpg
^^ heres another piccy of loch, shame i cant find pics o road itsel, but awesome scenery to drift around!

Any idea how long it takes to repair a puncture on a tractor?
especially when the other end of the windy exciting road also has a tractor with a "puncture" blocking it? :D

By the way, what is touge? :o :wack:

couple of hours atleast

It's pronounced 'too gay' - hence all the 'nice ass' etc.

actualy it's hill/mountain road racing. watch some initial d! (which is all about touge)

It's like rallying as far as driving style, however it isn't against the clock. It's a full on race to the finish line.

Depending only on the road, if narrow they play follow the leader, if you don't keep up you lose. If you keep up then switch positions and race again.

Christ on a bike! Where is that?!?!?!?Its the Stelvio Pass in Switzerland, runs down to Italy I believe. One of the highest roads in Europe or something like that. EVO did a beautiful GT2 RS vs 360 CS article a few months back there. Absolutly stunning scenery. Problem is its so high up that cars get a little starved of oxygen :wack:
