View Full Version : Fitting/Mapping
Hi Gary, I've spoken to you a couple of times on the phone about mapping my S14 ( i asked which you recommended Apexi / Greedy Emanage ecu). I've got the Apexi ecu and AVCR now and am just waiting for the 555cc injectors and GT28RS turbo to arrive.
Once they arrive i would like to book the car in with you for mapping but my question is..
Can you fit the Injectors, ECU and AVCR as well as set them up please? dont know if you normally do the fitting or not? I dont really want to have them fitted before then have to drive the car round without any set up.
The turbo will be fitted prior to coming down.
Thanks
Rich

hi mate
yes we can do it all for you
call us and we'll book it in
excellent.. just waiting for the injectors to arrive now..then I can book it in. Thanks
a few quick questions..?
I dont have an FPR, do i need one... are you likely to need to increase base fuel pressure to get the best of the car?
and... to be able to use the 'scramble' boost setting do i need to buy a suitable switch to activate it with..? just wondered what you normally use / do you sell any?
Cheers.

Probably best calling APT as Garys computer is at his house and seeing as 50% of his time is now at A.P.T and 49% at track days.. there is only 1% left for home.. and I think his missus has that booked well in advance :D

hi mate

let me know :thumbs:
Gary.. got a Z32 AFM and Apexi filter to go on now too.. only there are no bolts with it to secure the filter to the flow meter.. will you have correct size bolts available or would you be able to order some please?

when should you have them mate??
arrived this morning!
see you tomorrow.
Hi Gary, cheers for a good job the other day..
can i ask a couple of questions please?
the 'air temp' in the PFC always reads ----- is that expected or is it due the faulty O2 sensors?
same goes for the boost reading ----- although i could have sworn it was working when i left?
lastly.. is the rev limiter meant to be higher than 6950 as thats below the redline... it used to go into the red before?
thanks

the boost only reads when you have the boost kit fitted ie the controller and the same for the air temp thats only used with the mapped based system
as for rev limiter its around 7k standard but remember that the gauge is about 300-400 rpm out so will look like you are doing in to 7k
hope that all helps

Gary what are the restrictions when setting the max boost? Is it just the detonation reading or are there other things to watch.. only max detonation is currently only around 26 which is well short of the 35 limit you mentioned.. also does the warning light come on at det 35 or 60? As i read in the destructions that 60 was the det limit, is this the case? how come you recommend 35 is that for safety?

its for safety that its set to 35,that brings the light on when it goes higher than that.
timing is set slightly lower for safety as theres so many things that can induce det,ie different fuel, hotter weather etc
but when it setting boost theres a choice of more boost less timing or more timing less boost.
