web cam help?

I bought a web cam a while ago, a Trust spacecam 2.0.
It seems good and gives a fairly decent picture.

Im on broadband in which my pc goes through a network hub to a router.

The thing is, the cam speed seems really slow, even when im the only one online.
I thought using broadband it would be quite good?
Can anyone shed some light on this

what connection is the cam USB? i use a digital video camera and works superbly as a webcam. and fast too but thats prolly down to Firewire 400 abiltity to transer that much more data which could be the problem?
