Apparently, from 2004 each driver is only going to be allowed one engine for the weekend, with a 10 grid place penalty for using another!
I think we can say bye-bye to 18000rpm then...:(
And hello to mega-fast re-builds!

This is supposed to keep costs down. Yeah, right Max!

What happens if you are a crap driver and only qualify 20th and you change yer lump, do you have to go and paint some more grid lines and get your mates to fill the ones in front of you in their corsas?

Er, flambe is a ceramic glaze produced by uneven firing.
Rather apt if you've heard my car starting in the morning....:(

U still not got ur starting prob fixed then?

Is it to do with the removing the fuse thing still?

I seem to remember a post around a month ago where someone had said they replaced some sort of sensor to cure the prob.

Have u tried a search for it?

And are u taking the piss and mis-spelt flamethrower?
<<<<<< wouldnt know either way:confused: :D

Nope, it still won't start.

But to confuse the issue, my crappy compression appears not to be ring related, judging by the total lack of blow-by gas coming from the cam cover breathers. Even when I rev the nads off it, there's only a tiny amount.

I've changed:

4 coils, ECU temp sender, FPR, lambda probe

and checked everything else that's checkable by me.

Did you read my Cylinder head woes' thread?

I thought Flambethrower was quite subtle. Maybe just obscure then?

Ive read the thread mate but i realise that what i know about engines is f'all in comparison to u mate.
Dont know anything about lifters and stuff like that although ive never heard of hydraulic lifters failing, only getting noisier indicating a bent cam (?).

Is there no-one with an s13 near u who u can swop bits like the ecu with as a test?

What was the compression reading u got?
Cos there is a guy on here who got a test of 100psi on all 4 cylinders and had no probs with running. "starts first time every time" was the quote i recall.

Are u sure its valves, not even head gasket?
U said uve checked for blow by in the crankcase, have u checked for blow-by in the water system?

Would hate to strip it down to find feck all wrong, cos its a bastard of a job.

I thought it had to do with cookery? Is that what you do to the top of a pudding with a blowtorch? :)

You calling my car a pudding? :p :D

It's what you do to the top of your pukka Christmas pudding with pukka brandy pukka!

What you do to your pudding with a blowtorch is your business, and frankly beyond the realms of public decency. . .

:D :D :D

This is supposed to keep costs down. Yeah, right Max! Which is pretty much what Ron Dennis said in an interview recently, when asked about this subject!

I think Ron Dennis has realized he may never finish another race if they bring the rule in...

But as long as they have the diplomatic skill of Mr ****ard to deflect all the blame directly to on the team, then there will be no need to worry, Ron will be safe ;)

Hey just realised, Ron Dennis is a worse winger than Coultard, maybe thats were David gets his skills from.

Ron Dennis: "I think it was unfair for Schumacher to win the race because he was so much faster than everyone else"
