First off thanks to Nick (DME Motorsport/SKIDZ) for spraying the BBQ and generally putting up with it all year. Sorry we burnt some of the paint :( I wanted to be 100% sure we didn't get any toxic fumes from it.

Docwra was a star, teamed with Richie they did all of the cooking on the Friday and Sat (I just threw the meat on) and I think Doc was ready to start a new business with Rich as his first employee :) Although if I hired Doc his time keeping would need to improve :D:D

Richie, in Docs words, "is the most natural BBQ chef" he's ever seen. What a star. I think we all can testify to how hot those coals were and he spent out of all of us the most time hanging over the top of them. Top lad (and fast as well :D)

Thanks also to the SXOC staff for refunding us (well they said they will ;) ) and therefore allowing the BBQ to be put on for free. I can't think of ANY other club that could do anything like this.

And finally.....

Thanks to the members of the SXOC. No-one winged when we were slow, everyone queued nicely and waited and they made the atmosphere amazing. Thanks everyone... next year we should be BIGGER!

Oops

And Ben (Astonman) who saved my ass when Docwra was on a mission somewhere to save the world but not the bread. Cheers Ben I know that was a major hassle getting in and out again just for some loaves.

And John for helping me do the eggs on Sunday morning, I quickly realised I couldn't do eggs and bacon at the same time and unfortunately you were the closest next to me, CrazyMofo got away with that one cause he was offering help all morning and wasn't within ear shot when I needed the eggs doing! :D Nice one John

Well said that man - I have to say, I really enjoyed getting chicken skin and rib marinade up to my armpits for the best part of two days, with no sink no honestly I did ....... :indiff: ;)

Seriously though, it was a brilliant team effort and went really smoothly. All the food seemed to be enjoyed by everyone, and when I got pissed off with cooking it was easy enough to drop back and let Richie take it over

Without Yeagers nagging it wouldnt have been half as good, but I told you mate, my going AWOL for 1 1/2 hrs wasnt my fault. You wanna blame a Mr Green and a girl called Stella for that ;)

Gotta say kudos to Algie for giving some chicken to mint_sauce's girlfriend (saying "ahh yeah, you know mint and theory - have this and feed them") for us lot to eat and then about 30 minutes later asking everyone to show him what they were eating just incase they stole his last bit of chicken !

Dunno if it was any good or not though cuz she eat the lot to herself the greedy sod. I had beer

Thanks a lot guys

Indeed, good work once again fellas

And Doc, what do you mean I spend all my time hanging around the BBQ? I resent that remark - I'm sure I left the barbecue once or twice to fetch more beer ;)

I hope Vez is OK after Jolly and I cooked his chicken on Saturday night - mind you I think everyone else had more of it than he did.

Thanks for all the barbecuing lads - as if the novelty of eating food that's been cooked in the back of half a car wasn't enough the food was actually superb to boot (no pun intended).

I still have the 30Kg of charcoal in the boot of the co. car. The Bristol crowd made a detour around Oxford on Friday due to the massive traffic jams so I missed the connection. I was stuck 2 miles from the meeting point for two hours.  . Still will not have to buy any next year.

Charcoal always comes in handy mate, but I suspect you won't use all of that yourself before next year.

Shame you couldn't make it to Billing :(
