would this be an AE86? or is it too late in production to have one?

i just read on a website that they were 84 to 87? is that right?

if its not, what models came with the ae86 during which years for the UK market? any definitive answers?

Its obvious you are a AE86' band wagoner , as thats the most lame corolla ever made and its 5 door :) The 86 is a jap icon....

The ae86 had a 1.6 16v twin cam motor, I think its the same engine as the corolla GT (or GTi) but these where FWD.

The ae86's where RWD, and look a little like an S12 silvia (Same basic shape)

i honestly dont give a flying fook if i look like a "bandwagoner" i'm interested in this car for a number of reasons, one being that my daughters boyfriend will be needing a car within the next 12 months
another being that i like their retro 80's looks and i would like to know more about them
which is kinda hard when you cant even find out what the hell it was called in this country and if/when it was available here

Think Im getting the wrong end of the stick here, and getting a little confused

Are you interested in an ae86 Corolla, or the Corolla in the piccy?

Sorry if my past posts have been confusing :(

wasnt you stuy ;)
anyways, trying to find out what the ae86 was here, corolla gt coupe, thanks pulsatingstar
so theyre pretty much rocking horse poop then over here
so is the 84-87 fairly accurate, excluding any late registrations of old stock?
i guess most went the way of 80's jap cars did they, mostly brown piles of metal-oxide left?

I think the majority now reside in Ireland

the last AE86 in this country was in, 1986 afaik - its the twin cam corolla... you can find them quite easily on www.findit.co.uk/cars

EDIT - findit has gone downhill ??

anyway there is a single cam version too, so watch out for that cuz its only about 95hp I think.

EDIT 2 - proper link, find it is once again cool  http://www.findit.co.uk/cars.htm (http://www.findit.co.uk/cars/toyota/corolla.htm)

My ex had a super cool black one a couple of years ago, but sold it to one of his mates, it has now been sold on again so is probably floating around somewhere.
He has just imported a white one over from japan (i helped him choose it :D ).
Have to say that they are pretty cool cars, and they do wipe the smiles off boy racers faces in their scoobies when it whooops their a*$e!!!
