people shouldn't walk on roads, would you drive on the pavement.

the country side is full of fields so why do people feel then need to walk on Tarmac?

Twas one of these traffic calming measures that had a part in my car being smashed in.... :mad:

Edited to say it wasnt me thrashing the car. Just some knob jockey coming through a chicane flat out and nearly destroying mine as I was trying to get through ( my right of way according to the sign :rolleyes: )

Its a tad hypocritical isn't it... At no point have they reduced the speed limits on these roads...

Its not just roads they are doing it on.. I had ( please be nice) a 4x4 that went off road.. ( not just for the school run :eek: ) There are now very few places that you can use the off roaders as the ramblers dont like it.. :annoyed:

If we all used our cars less the government would be up the creek without a paddle, so why do they insist on upsetting us.

Will be interesting to see where this goes - you do have to remember that 99.9% of drivers in this country are without talent or skill in any way at all. Which is why these measures are coming in place.

I love chicanes. There's a load in Roffey and, one, feeling bolder than a fox in the chicken shed, I snuck thru behind someone else - the on coming owman in the Escort should have stopped for the first car but she didn't, so I had to squeeze through.
She leant out the window shouting "TW@T" at the top of her Chav lungs.
I took one look at her, gave her my campest finger wave, blew a kiss and floored it. Her face was a picture!

But why speed humps? In my cavalier I could go over speed humps at whatever speed I liked and not be bothered, in my S13 I have to slow down to 10 mph. Chicanes are no better, ok if the road's empty but if not you have to stop and wait for a gap in the traffic.
