Been looking at buying a firewire lead to transfer from my digi camcorder to my laptop, have discovered there are a few diferent ones available, 4 pin-4 pin, 4 pin-6 pin, 6 pin-6 pin :confused:
Does anyone know wich one I will need? and a good place to buy one from aswell please :thumbs:

I use a 4 to 6 at home, PCI Firewire card (big plug) & Sony & JVC camcorders (small plug)

ebuyer is the cheapest to get the wire from... only a few quid, as opposed to £20 from dabs and pcworld! :eek:
as for which one you need... that depends on your laptop and camera...
most cameras have the small 4 pin connector, as do most laptops... look at the sockets, if the sockets look like a USB then you need 6 pin, if the socket is small and rectangular, then thats the 4pin type....
