OK, I know everybody seems to have issues with pop-ups, but this is driving me cRaZy!

I have a 1yr old computer, nothing amazing, mainly used for I-net and games.

It's got "adaware", and the latest norton AV that i scan everyweek.

I get about 1 popup for every normal page I open, that's annoying, yeah, but I can live with it, as i just close the popup.

But on hotmail, (only hotmail) when ever i load it up, and do anything like open any message at all, or go to start a new message, a full page pop up appears that I can't close, as it takes up the whole screen , with no "x" to click..... The only way o close this popup is to "Cntr/alt/delete", then click on close IEXPLORE.EXE", which closes ALL windows, and I have to start again!!!!

I havent been able to check email for about 1 week now, as when ever i go to open a message, that happens!

what can i do..... ANYTHING is appreciated...

thankyou!

try alt-F4 instead of ctrl-alt-delete

Try one of other spyware programs like search and destroy.

As above. Also get google toolbar as thats very good at stopping popups

Also download and run 'Highjack This'. It'll more than likely show up a browser high jack that calls these popups all over the place.

Or don't use IE, get Opera or similar. Or get XP SP2 RC2 which has a new version of IE with a popup blocker.

mozilla firefox is a great and fast alternative to IE :)

I'm not a computer bod but use this at home for SXOC. No problems. Never had a pop up from any website.

Also, wise for SXOC at work because the history/temporary files are not immediately obvious to semiIT literate boss, especially if Firefox is renamed as ..say.....stress analysis input, for example :D

If you work somewhere with an IT department, then perhaps less wise.
