THIS IS FROM A POLICE OFFICER
Be aware of new car-jacking scheme.
Imagine: You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rear view mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view... When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off !! Your engine was running, (ladies would have their handbag in the car) and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.
BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED!! Just drive away, remove the paper that is stuck to your window later on and be thankful that you read this email.
I hope you will forward this to friends and family...especially to women! A handbag probably contains all your identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys

Thanks for the warning  But would you not remove the paper before you got in the car?

I always do a lap around my car before I get in to check for damage

Cheers for the heads up. Lots of people only look at the rear windscreen once they are ready to reverse so I can see that working an alarming amount of the time.

I always drive off with the paper still attached. It'll be some shite about earning £250 a week stuffing envelopes and it'll probably fall off on the road later :)

I do that, if there is a leaflet under my windscreen wipers, I drive and if it still there when i reach my destination then it is worthy of a quick read

Parking tickets :p
I must admit I always play the game of guess what speed I have to do before the flyer comes off the car  :o

Thing is its come from the states and over there they have to face front end in when parking due to a lack of front number plates

Not sure about that one? they vary from state to state, some states have to have front number plates on their cars.
TBH I'd just use my rear screen wash/wipe to get rid of it....
tbh these chain letters get a bit tedious after a while.
like the one about people sneaking into the back of your car whilst your paying for petrol etc.
ive had people attempt to car jack me 3 times... and all 3 times they just ran up to the car tooled up and tried to rob me.
i spoke to the operations officer at southend police during our meeting and he agreed that a car jackers main tactic is simply brute force and offense.
coming up with cunning plans such as sticking bits of paper to a car simply doesnt happen...
how do they know how long that person is going to be?
where would they be hiding?
in most cases they just try rushing you.
i totally agree though that being vigilant is always a good thing.. and i guess its good to post these things up even though they are fake because it makes people think about the issue of being jacked.im suprised there hasnt been any form of tv campaign etc about it... as its quite often things like that happen around here and london...
just my 2cents worth anyways, sorry.
