View Full Version : Politics Rant
In my job, and for most others on the board I'd imagine as well, knowingly providing misleading information would be a sackable offence. If you promise something in the past and go back on your word or change your story then an apology along with explaination at the very least would be required.
Changing your mind on a matter, sweeping information under the rug, or trying to squirm out of a situation would find yourself in serious trouble. These are just basic rules which go without saying really, everyone is aware of the implications of lieing in the grown up world.
Why are politicans exempt from this?

The same reason that Judges and Rock Stars can get away with looking at kiddie porn

And the reason bosses can promise you pay rises that never occur...

Because no-one officially complains mate - political apathy is responsible. be honest, how many people here actually bother to vote? we all whinge about everything but who actually tries to make a difference?
There's your answer.
I always vote when the time comes. If I dont think any are worth voting for then I write that on my voting slip. I dont think anyone has the right to moan if they dont make the bloody effort to vote.
One thing I would like to see is a none of the above box. That way the government/politicians can see how pi55ed off the voters are with them.

Agreed, but even a vote for a small guaranteed non winner will help them see we don't like the two conservative parties we get to choose from.

I think Mr Blair should stand trial.
He has:
Wasted Millions going to Iraq
Wasted: 60 soilder lives going to Iraq
The thing they were fighting for about is not there
Now most countries, especially Middle Eastern hate us with a passion.
Mr Blair should be in big trouble, but thanks to the crap system he is allowed to walk away scott free.
Answer me this:
What happens if Mr Blair suddenly decides China has WMD that it has not told us about and we attack. This will cause World War 3, and we will all die thanks to Mr W@nker chops.
You kind of answered it yourself, but people used to riot about stuff like this. These days everyone just goes *yawn* booorrriinnngg politics and then switches MTV over to VH1 and chats with their net buddies on MSN while they wait for their mum to shout "Dinner !!".
No one cares about politics even though it affects everything because people find it boring. I get looked at well funny when I mention that I want to watch Question Time or if I start chatting about the people involved in your avatar...
I just don't understand what excuses them from normal human behaviour, do they pish on the carpet when they come round your house too?
Dunc.
As Theory says so well, its voter apathy. Marches and riots just aren't what they used to be..
There's no air of restlessness and change any more. No one gives a sh1t about anyone but themselves (for the majoirty of the population) - everyone wants loadsamoney and to make a fast buck (thanks to the 80s for that one).
If people cared then this situation wouldn't arise.
So, if you want things to change - vote. become a politcal activist. Don't just sit and whinge and then wonder why no one listens (not directed at anyone in particualr, just a general tirade :) )

Just vote him out.................
Even if you don't like the conservatives, how can they do a worse job than him?
It would also dilute his messiah complex (a bit!)
I have a better idea.....if even just 60% of the populice in the UK refused to pay council tax, car tax, speeding fines etc and just agree that this country is going up $hit creek without a paddle, we could oust the government and get things changed....because what are they going to do? jail everyone?
We rule the country....I think we have just lost sight of that!

People think that the goverment are in control, and that's what gives them control... They are there to serve us and when they do it wrong we should fcuking well tell them and demand to know what they're gonna do to fix it... they get paid enough.
