I bought a fibre-obtic cable for our PS2 to connect it to my Dolby Digital amp, but I can't get any sound (well in the main menu and the only game we have, GTA3).

Should I get sound, or does the cable only work with games that support Dolby Digital?

Thanks,
John :)

You need to turn on the digi-out in the main menu IIRC, turn on the PS2 with no disc in and go to settings :)

U cannot invent DTS or Dolby etc where it does not exist sadly :(

Like setting 5.1 on a normal tv all you hear is either the music or the words, never both..

I'd not selected the correct input on the amp :o (was about 10 to choose from, and it needed to be set to digital too).

It's in stereo on GTA3 :indiff:

Thanks anyway :)

That is correct but all the soundtracks are Dolby Digital (2.0 etc), just not all surround ;)
