well they let passengers go out in the practice session so can't see it would be a problem having a pro driver give rides. They do it all the time as silverstine surely?!?!?!

Matt_S

:ghey: I wouldn't have any balls left if I did that risk. I think my MD would have something to say about it

If i'm not mistaken Kiki never wears a suit or helmet and his passengers never do either. I might be wrong though.

It was a couple of years ago when kiki took me out round the track (for free :D ), and i didnt have to wear a helmet or suit then, so doubt you would have to now.
What a driver he is though!!! :notworthy
Haven't seen kit since then either, is he still as mad as ever?

at first practice the option boys weren't wearing helmets, but everyone else was.

If kiki can go out on the track in his car with no suit or helmet that is a bit of a joke IMHO...

It's because it's not competitive, it's like a demonstration, you will also notice that there are no marshalls when kiki drives.. At the end of the day, I personally think he should really be just as kitted up as we have to be, but it's his event and his insurance :wack:..

Bon Bon

Practise sessions aren't competitive...

It's double standards, yes it's his event and his insurance, but there is NO possible reason for him not wearing a helmet or suit other than he can't be bothered. In a way I think because it's a demonstration he should stand by the rules and make an example.

It doesn't make any difference to any of us, at all, so it's not really a big deal, it just seems a bit silly really.

Not disagreeing with 'rules are rules' but practice session 'are' competitive, you are trying to better your technique to place better in the competitions..

Cath

I'm sure the insurance stipulates things that can not just be changed because its a different person on track.

It my opinion it is not different to anyone else being out on the track

Silverstone provide race suits and helmets for spectators to have rides in the morning and with Kiki.

Bon Bon
16-07-2004, 11:23
Actually, yes you're right Phil, I stand corrected.

Ah-ha! But Kiki is showing off, which could be deemed as competitive...(yes I am just being a cocky prat now) He certainly tries hard enough anyway...coughgraveltrapscough.... :p

I'm so going to stuff it in the gravel tomorrow now I've said that
