Driving home from Mascrat tonight I noticed cows full of fields chewing grass and wondered why they weren't tucked up in bed. Then I realised cows don't have beds and that, no matter what time of night or the early hours I've staggered home at, cows in fields are always eating. In fact the only time I've seen them lying down is if rain is coming and even then they aren't sleeping, they're just chatting, well mooing, to each other. This led me to wonder, do cows actually sleep?

don't they sleep standing up? that's why people go cow tipping i think, they're easier to tip over when they're asleep

Cow tipping? What, like a service charge?

I've heard of cow tupping, which I think is something different. I believe that's free though. Mind you, if the farmer's a pimp...

happarently, some people when they're bored and need some fun in their life they go out pushing over cows that have fallen asleep standing up.

this provides amusement as you can watch the cow wake up with a start when it hits the floor :)
