View Full Version : Formula D pix
A guy on the Datsun 510 mailing list posted these pics from the Formula D drift event at Sears Point on the States at the weekend. Lots of S13's and some S14 in action. Take a look HERE (http://www.510garage.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=24)

I think i read that Hiroo Sumida's AE86 went up against Sam Hubinette's Mopar Viper in the cut for the top 8 at the Infineon Formula D event (where the pics ratdat posted came from)... Hiroo lost. ahah. Stupid viper.

Probably because the viper could generate more smoke.
Most of those pics appear to be cars just doing random smokey stuff on big open areas of tarmac? Shame really since sears point (sorry, infineon, stupid corporate sponsorship) does have some awesome corners for drifting. There's an S bend section that would be particularly appropriate, right after a nice wide 90 degree corner with tons of runoff.
Actually I just noticed that some of the one gazillion photos are on interesting parts of the track, such as the s-bends here... http://www.510garage.com/photos/albums/wpw-f9/normal_formula%20d%20001.JPG

Where do you read that sort of stuff, Paz? Not taking the piss, BTW, it's because I'm interested.
