Asus/Media Player will only allow the region to be switched 5 times.
What software could i get that will allow me to play Region 1 DVDs (parents managed to buy a single region DVD player with the video - never let them do anything  ) on my PC?

Any ideas?

you also need a region free drive for this
you need a program called regkiller (region killer) which will do it all for you, if however it tells you your drive is not region free then you will need to find a region free firmware for it and flash the firmware
if none is available your stuffed and need a different drive

You can use something like DVDGenie to stop the region counter going down on the software, but as Draven says, you'll also need a region free drive otherwise the region counter on that will still go down.

What model is it? There's a fair chance that, if it's a cheap'ish player, it'll be region free with a simple remote key press hack.

Hmm, had a look around and there doesn't appear to be a wealth of information about it one way or the other. Not many of the region hack sites I found even mentioned your player...

I couldn't find it either. You could always go out and buy a cheap one for about £30.
