View Full Version : Cant open my inbox in Outlook Express
Recently my inbox will not open in outlook express, when i try to open the inbox it just freezes up and i have to close the program manually to get out of it. Its never done this before - anyone got any solutions?
no but I suggest that you run regcleaner, spybot etc etc. Sounds like you've got a duff entry in the registry.
This is a known problem with OE. The INBOX.DBX file becomes corrupted. You need to copy your INBOX.DBX file somewhere as a backup, then delete the original. Run OE and it will recreate the INBOX.DBX file. Then import your messages from your back up. Works every time :thumbs:
stimpy i've looked for the inbox.dbx file in the outlook express folder in program files. Is there anywhere else it could be, as i dont seem to have it?!!
Hadyn, it will be in something like:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{bla bla bla}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
And once you've rescued your mail, go and download Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/). :)
