Hi guys,

Got the usual Alternator problem the other day, ie "Charge" light on the dash and car not starting due to flat battery afterwards so i whipped the alternator off and got it rebuilt to a supposed "good" one.

Now ive put it back together and the problem persits, so before i take it back to him, is there any other reason why this would be happening?

Thanks

Paz

Bad wiring or blown fuse somewhere? Do you have a service manual or Haynes manual or anything. See if theres a diagnostic procedure for the charging circuit. Is the battery known good? Have you taking the voltage from the battery with and without the engine running?

Uhh well, i charged the battery enough to get it started, thats when the alternator should put the current into the battery, right?

Checked the fuse box, only one fuse was down but that was a headlight one which explains why one of the Raybrig HID was dull compared to the other. Havent got a Haynes Manual, dont think they do one for a UK spec nevermind a Japanese spec :( Battery is known good, or should well be as it was new when the car arrived with me. Its about 2 months old, tops? Havent got a meter to hand but i'll try to get my hands on one if i can.. It should be 14-15v when the car is off, right?

Thanks
