BMW ownership - a warning from an reformed car modifier...
If like me you have the bug to tinker/modify/re-arrange/re-wire/screw-up any piece of automotive engineering that comes your way, then absolutely never get a BMW
Now, admittedly, you can get all manner of bling/rudeboy rubbish to bolt to your L-Reg 316i
But, if you want to properly modify it, then you're screwed..
My 98 328i Coupe has 197bhp
Which is pants
I want more power
Guess how much to 'liberate' 40 horses from my marvel of teutonic efficiency?
£2800
For a Hartge H3 2.8 conversion
Said conversion consists of:
2 x camshafts
1 x inlet plenum
1 x ecu remap
Nice huh?
So, I'm reduced to buying and retro-fitting a Park Distance Control kit for £270 (3 series coupes with M-tech spoilers suffer from 'impossible to judge where the back stops')
The horror
The shame
(cue JB ribbing about Evo IIs or something :wack:
