buying an escort van ???

Anyone know anything about these, S reg 18D escot van 75 S ... only 40k miles. ???? ... Might have been around the clock as the clock only goes up to 99999 and 40k does seem low ... The accompanying docs consist of an MOT and a couple of sheets of baper from BCH (fleet firm) showing service intervals .. which do tally up to 40k ... one year only did 2k .... but easy enough to be forged I guess.

What should I check for .. the body seems tidy, the engine looks like an engine to me though ... a bit oily, I wouldnt eat me dinner off of it, are diesles nice clean engines ?? ... the 80k engine next to it did seem tidier.

Will test drive it tomorrow, thought one fo you guys might know a little bit about them ?

Being the 75,does that mean it's the TD? I've got a normal 1800 diesel and it really gets on my tits how slow it is.I know it's only a diesel but it's totally gutless.I'm looking at fitting the TD engine.I've had my mate look at it (Lorry mechanic) and he reckons my engine could be duff tho,lots of vapour coming from the oil filler cap when removed (when hot) said it could be a sign of piston blow by.One thing to check for anyway :)

nah, being the 75 means the load refers to the load weight, so it has different rear leaf springs.

But it is the straight 1.8 ... so it will be a dog .... what sort of mpg do you get out of it anyway ????

oh and do you know what mileage the BIG service is at ie cambelt ??
