View Full Version : Celica Speakers

As the Celica site is worse than a site for trainspotting anoraks I have to ask you all instead.
As you know, I have a 1995 Japanese imported Celica and I need to get new speakers in it. However, you cannot get to the speakers without taking all the door panels off. I need to know what size the speakers are in the front doors and the back panels so I can buy them and only have to get the panels off the once, i.e when they are being fitted. Any ideas where I can find out or does anyone know?

Err your best best is to ask your local Toyota dealer, I doubt that the import speakers are different from the UK model, or go to a car audio shop.

Yeah, you think it would be that easy. I am told they are different from the UK spec and have been to two audio suppliers who are researching it for me. No joy yet!!

I think you're best off taking the panels off and having a look! Or get someone to do it for you (even better!!). They're normally held on by about two screws and a few plastic clips, and it would be a 10 minute job.
Chances are they'll be one of the standard sizes e.g 16cm. Measure them diagonally at the points where they screw in.
Good luck http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif

What the hell...it's only money!!
Might be worth popping down to your local ICE centre and asking them.
I know that a couple of speaker manufacturers do what they call car kits, basically a set of 'taylored' speakers. The kits should give the dimensions.
If you get a stereo monkey boy (youve gotta know someone with a 15 inch sub and two batteries in their car), they will prolly be able to tell you
I just did a quick search on google and got this - dunno if its the board you use, but if not, give it a go: http://pub42.ezboard.com/f2000celicachataudiosecurity
Failing any of that, maybe more google searching??

I think your best bet is to sell the Celica and buy a 200sx http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
Just go to a Car Stereo shop in a skimpy outfit and pretend your helpless, that'd probably work. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/biggrin.gif
